Come enjoy our rustic mountain cabin located at 861 Little East Fork Canton, North Carolina 28716.

Here you will find a truly unique mountain cabin strategically placed at the base of the historic and unforgettable Cold Mountain.

At an elevation of 3,000 ft. this mountain cabin features 2 bedrooms and 2 baths and a huge cathedral ceiling living and dining area. The cabin is was built in 1975 by Florence and Ben Fishback and was renovated in 2014.

This is a real North Carolina poplar wood cabin with electricity, gas and telephone but otherwise a rustic mountain setting. The kitchen is equipped with a gas stove, refrigerator, sink and a dining room table.

The living room adjoins the kitchen and features an open design with high ceilings. It is heated by a wood stove fitted into the fireplace. There is plenty of room for reading or enjoying the company of your friends and family. A set of double doors leads from the living area to a large deck that overlooks a green forest, Panther Branch Waterfall and beyond to the Little East Fork River.

Cold Mountain Lodge is easily accessible from Little East Fork Road and features a paved driveway that leads up to a large staircase and a deck that includes plenty of seating to take in the clean mountain air and the sound of Panther Branch creek and the nearby Little East Fork River. The deck includes an entrance to the living room and kitchen area of the house.

The Lodge is situated 14 miles from the town of Waynesville, NC with its unique art galleries, boutiques and coffee shops along with gourmet dining opportunities. There are many nearby tourist attractions in Maggie Valley and the Cataloochee ski area is within driving distance.

Asheville is an approximately a 40 minute drive to the east on Interstate-40 where you will find the Biltmore House, Grove Park Inn and the beautiful and unique city of Asheville itself.

Cold Mountain Lodge is 15 minutes away from the Blue Ridge Parkway and is convenient to Shining Rock Wilderness area, Pisgua National Forrest, Shining Rock, Looking Glass Falls, and the Cradle of the Forest.    [ Click Here For Area Map ]

Cold Mountain features hiking and we have bicycles placed at the lodge for your use (on the paved roads, not recommended for riding on the dirt roads of Cold Mountain itself).

From the deck you can see a waterfall and hear the sounds of Panther Creek; which leads into the Little East Fork just below the house. The house is situated in the midst of nature surrounded by the most beautiful trees and the essence of crisp clean mountain air.
