Get Away from it all at the Cold Mountain Lodge

Cold Mountain Lodge is a 1,300 square foot cabin featuring a large living room and an open kitchen connected to two medium sized bedrooms each with their own bathroom.

One of the bedrooms features two beds and the other has an old style double bed. The cabin easily sleeps four people but can accommodate additional persons if they sleep in the living room. There is a wood-burning fireplace in the living room.

History . . .

The home was originally constructed by Florence and Ben Fishback from Orlando, Florida in 1975. It has remained in the Fishback family since its construction 40 years ago and is currently managed by grandchildren of Florence and Ben Fishback. The legal owner is Ralph Fisher. This wonderful mountain cabin home has undergone extensive renovations and improvements in 2014 but still remains a rustic mountain cabin with essential services.

The sound of the mountain creek and nearby waterfall greets ever visitor and the cool summers are a great escape from the hot areas of the country such as Florida.

The home sits at the base of Cold Mountain at 3,000 feet of elevation and features a paved driveway. The house is accessed by steps that lead up to a deck in the front. The back door is accessed via steps to the left of the driveway area.

The road that leads up cold mountain from the cabin itself is on a dirt gravel road known as Panther Branch Road. It is not recommended that automobiles other than 4WD use the road to access the mountain to the top. However, our friends have placed gravel up the road to access another rental on the mountain where extra people in your party can stay.

Cold Mountain is a wonderful place to hike and features over two miles of dirt and gravel roads that are easily hiked on the way up to Cold Mountain.
